Of Special Note:

The UTHSC Faculty Senate initiates and collaborates on a number of projects. This page lists several highlights of these activities.

NEW POLICY AND PROCEDURES FOR APPOINTMENT AND PROMOTION.

In 2006 and early 2007, a task force and several committees worked extensively to review the current processes for appointment and promotion, and revise them where necessary.  Below is the final version of the new procedures, including criteria expected for each faculty level.  Committee Chairs, V-C Cheryl Scheid (after additional input they received from faculty, the Fac. Senate Executive Committee on 2/1/07,  and Chancellor Owen) also worked on this revision. The revision was approved on Feb 13, 2007, by the full Faculty Senate.  It was then to go the the Chancellor's Cabinet.

Below the A&P document (entitled "Feb7Afternoon AP...") is a link to a companion file ("R'd 11.29...grid.xls") that has an Excel spreadsheet that could be used by faculty, chairs, and P&P committtees to make the numerical calculations for each faculty member being considered for promotion.

Legal Matter - Misrepresentation of Academic Credentials

The following three documents were sent from UT Vice-President Bob Levy to Chancellor Owen, who  in turn requested that this information be "percolated".  Misrepresentation of one's academic credentials, e.g. on such documents as job applications, CVs, or resumes is a Class A misdemeanor under State of Tennessee law.
