Responsibilities and Goals
Responsibilities: Specific areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to, policies and recommendations related to the following:
- Policies for appointment, promotion, and tenure
- Policies for off-campus assignments and leaves of absence
- Policy for discharge for cause
- Evaluation of administrators
- Procedures for faculty performance assessment
- Workshops on promotion and tenure
- Policy on consulting
- New faculty orientation
Goals:
- New Faculty Orientation (in consultation with the Budget and Benefits Committee), include information concerning allocation for retirement and regulations for 50% cashability at retirement
- In conjunction with the Budget and Benefits Committee, ensure uniform implementation of Research Incentive Policy to all colleges, as well as to clinical faculty members relative to their basic science counterparts
- Off-campus assignments and Faculty Development with leaves of absence
- Initiate discussion to change the off-campus assignments and Faculty Development Policy as the Faculty Sabbatical Policy as approved for TUK by the Board of Trustees
- Clarification of tenured salary and official structure of the appointment and reappointment letters
- Revisit alternative policy for the post-tenure review of the faculty
